This service is only available for individuals residing in Richmond-Upon-Thames and Hounslow borough. 

Unfortunately, we are sad to announce that after three years we will no longer be able to provide free wheelchairs and mobility scooters. To ensure this vital service can continue, we are now offering a loan service, allowing you to borrow a wheelchair or mobility scooter for either a 3-month or 6-month period. This will hopefully provide sufficient time for an occupational therapist to assess your needs and make a referral to the wheelchair service.

We understand that this news may be upsetting, as these services have been a lifeline for many. Please know that this change is due to a lack of funding to sustain the free provision. We sincerely hope that, in time, we will be able to raise enough funds to reinstate this service.

We can only accept referrals that are supported by a letter from a General Practitioner (GP) or Occupational Therapist (OT). This letter must explicitly state that the recommended equipment will be beneficial and safe for your specific needs. Without this supporting documentation, we are unable to process the referral.

Please ensure that you have selected the correct code when requesting any equipment.
